The Cherry Sisters

Nashville-based vocal trio, formed 1974, when Diane Tidwell, Lisa Silver and Sheri Kramer were hired for a gospel session with tommy dougherty, hired by Pat Patrick. They began working as a trio and were soon jokingly given the name "The Cherry Sisters" by arranger bill justis.

Became known as some of the most sought-after background singers from the mid-1970s through the mid-1980s. Recorded one album with clayton ivey for Monument in the early 1980s, but it was never released due to Monument's bankruptcy. Continued working into the 1990s, until the trio dissolved.

Diane Tidwell Vanette wrote a book about the group in 2025.
